Other Books to Prisoners Projects

There is no single national books to prisoners project, but a number of organizations like the Midwest Pages to Prisoners Project work from different parts of the US to serve imprisoned people.  Books Through Bars, a Philadelphia based group has compiled a map listing many of these projects.

Bookmooch

The Midwest Pages to Prisoners Project would like to thank BookMooch for their generous support. BookMooch, an online community for exchanging used books, has generously donated points to us so we can request specific books from BookMooch members to send to incarcerated people.

The Real Cost of Prisons Project

The Real Cost of Prisons Project  works to strengthen and deepen the organizing capacity of people and communities struggling to end mass incarceration. Resources include a website with useful up-to-date research, books, links to hundreds of organizations, PDF’s of  RCPP created materials including three comic books (“Prison Town---Paying the Price”, “Prisoners of a Hard Life---Women and Their Children” and “Prisoners of the War on Drugs) and the newest sections “Comix from Inside” and “Writing from Prison.”  The Real Cost of Prisons also has a daily blog of news focusing on mass incarceration.
